Vehicle Involvement Type Definitions

Important

Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.

On the Vehicle Involvement Type Definitions page you can define codes and descriptions used by your organization to specify how people are involved in vehicle-related incidents. Although you can define as many codes as you want, you typically only need a few. For example, you might create definitions to indicate the driver, permit holder, and owner of the vehicle.

To add and edit vehicle involvement type definitions, you must have the permissions Can manage vehicle involvement type definitions enabled in the Student Life Module Manager or Vehicle Administrator roles.

You can also manage these definitions in Desktop on the Vehicle Involvement Type window. Definitions can be edited in Desktop or J1 Web; changes are displayed in both locations.

Vehicle Involvement Type definitions are stored in the Vehicle Involvement Type Definitions table (veh_inv_type_def.veh_inv_type).

The Vehicle Involvement Types you define in this window appear in the Involvement drop-down lists in the Vehicle Violation Incident window.
