Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
Use this page to review and update detailed contact, scheduling, and characteristic information about a place.
Click Edit details. The fields become editable.
To jump to a particular section, click its link at the top. For example, to quickly access A/V information, click Physical Characteristics.
To update the information in a field, click the Edit icon next to the field you want to update. When you are done editing the field, click Save.
Tip
Changing the place category may change characteristic and scheduling options. For example, a parking lot doesn't have as many physical characteristics as a building and an online place doesn't have any physical characteristics and its scheduling options vary as it is available all the time.
When you are done editing the place details, click the Done editing button.
Click the Place icon to return to the Place page.
The Active and Show on Web checkboxes must be selected for a campus on the Desktop Maintain Location Master window in order for it to be included in the campus count. If you do not have any campuses listed as active, none appear here.
Verify the user is an active Web user (Desktop Users window).
Verify the user is assigned to a Web role (Web System Administration).
The Building/Room Code is a unique code that when entered, creates a corresponding building on the Desktop Building Definition window. You do not need to enter it, but if the building or related spaces will be used in the Desktop application, you may want to add it. For example, adding a Building/Room Code would be helpful when setting up a place where courses will be instructed.
Online locations are always considered active. They cannot be inactivated, demolished, or sold.
Online locations are considered schedulable at all times.
Online locations do not have the traditional characteristics of a building or place. For example, an online location doesn't have handicap access or a certain number of floors.
