Academic Plan Sensitivity
Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
What is plan sensitivity?
Plan sensitivity lets your school control the level of flexibility students are allowed when registering. Plan sensitivity is configured for each registration control group on the Year / Term / Subterm Definitions page, Year / Term Control for Registration Control Groups view:
Must register for planned courses means the student must follow the plan precisely, and can't register for courses outside the plan.
May register OFF plan but must stay on curriculum means the student may register differently from the timing of the plan but not differently from the requirements. For example, juniors may take an elective in a different term than planned.
May register without plan restrictions means the student may register without being restricted to the plan. For example, honor students may register for courses off plan without approval.
Students are assigned to a web registration group and the plan sensitivity of the group automatically applies to those students.
How does this impact registration?
Students registering using the Campus Portal will access the My Schedule page, which includes the My Academic Panel showing the student’s academic plan requirements. The student can then drill down to find courses that meet the requirements.
Students required to register by plan will only see those courses planned for a selected term.
Students who must register for courses within their plan curriculum, but aren't required to register at the planned time will see courses on their plan for the selected term and courses on the plan for future terms.
Students who may register without plan restrictions will see courses on their plan for the selected term, courses on their plan for future terms, and courses off their plan.
