Cluster Definitions

Important

Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.

A Cluster Code is used to identify a small subset of students that you would like to group for monitoring or some other reason. This page allows you to define the cluster codes that will be available to assign to students on the Manage Student Details page. This code may be up to 15 characters, however, it can also be used in the Accounts Receivable Charges process with a 10-character limit, so Jenzabar recommends limiting Cluster codes to 10 characters if they will be used for accounting purposes.

The necessary permissions needed to define and edit Cluster codes are in the Registration Module Manager and Registrar default roles.

  1. From the Registration Administration hub, click Hub options.

  2. Click Manage Definitions, and select Cluster definitions.

  3. Enter characters, words, or phrases in the Quick Filters to limit the list of definitions.

  4. Click a heading to sort the list by that column.

  1. Click the Create definitions button.

  2. Enter a unique Code. This code can be up to 15 alphanumeric characters.

  3. Enter a Description.

  4. Select yes or no in the Active option drop-down menu. Only cluster codes tagged as active will be available to assign to students.

  5. Click either Save and create another or Create and close.

  1. Click the Edit icon Edit Icon on the row of a definition. The edit pop-up opens.

  2. The code may not be changed, but you can edit the description and the active status.

  3. Click the Update button.

Caution

You cannot delete a cluster code that is currently assigned in the system. All dependent data must be cleared before the code can be deleted.
