General Configurations
Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
General configurations determine how the system and modules work.
Module max of 5 characters
Function max of 5 characters
Characteristic max of 15 characters
Configuration Value max of 255 characters
Description max of 60 characters
Permissions to access and manage configurations are in the System Administrator default role.
General configurations are stored in the CONFIGURATION_TABL.
General configurations are managed on the Maintain Configuration Table window in the Desktop.
Access the General Configurations page in the System Administration hub (System Settings options).
Click the Create definitions button. The Create General Definition window appears.
In the Module field, enter the module area impacted by the configuration. Modules are typically represented by a two-letter code, but you can enter up to 5 characters. Example module codes: Registration = RE, Common = CM, Tasklist = TL. Jenzabar recommends entering an easily recognizable module code/name.
In the Function field, enter the function that will be performed in the module. max of 15 characters
In the Characteristic field, enter max of 15 characters
In the Configuration Value field, enter max of 255 characters
In the Description field, enter max of 60 characters
Note
Only Configuration Value and Description information can be updated.
Click the Edit icon on the row of the configuration you want to update. The Edit Configuration pop-up window appears.
Make the appropriate updates to the Configuration Value and Description fields.
Click the Update button.
Note
Jenzabar-provided configurations cannot be deleted and show a lock icon next to them.
Select one or more configurations.
From the Options drop-down, select Delete. The Delete General Configuration? pop-up window appears showing:
Configurations that can be deleted in the Ready to Delete section.
Configurations that cannot be deleted in the Unable to Delete section. These configurations might be in use or protected by the system.
To remove a definition from the Ready to Delete section, click the Remove icon next to it.
Click the Yes, delete button. The configurations are deleted and the Delete General Configuration? window closes.
Select the checkboxes next to the rows you want to export.
From the Options drop-down, select Download to Excel. The Download to Excel pop-up opens.
Select options for the Excel format and data columns.
Click Download. Your .xlsx or .zip file is saved in the file location that you have set in your browser settings.
