Comments Overview

Comments allow you to document and share explanations with other people building the budget.You can provide instructions on how to build a budget worksheet or explain and justify budget categories.

Notice

You can see who attached comments and access general contact information such as the user's e-mail address and office phone number.

Comments can be added to budgets, worksheets, and worksheet line items.

  • Add Comment Icon

    indicates a comment can be added

  • Comment Icon

    indicates a comment exists.

  • Comment Icon

    indicates an unread comment exists.

  1. On the main page within the Budget feature, use one of the Search options in the Budget to Prepare for Next Year or This Year's Active Budget section to view your worksheets.

  2. Click on the worksheet for which you are viewing comments. Any worksheet comments are displayed under the Worksheet summary.

  2. Click on the item for which you are viewing comments.

  3. Click the Comment  icon. The Line Item Comments window appears displaying any comments made to the line item.

  2. Click on the worksheet for which you are adding comments.

  3. Click the Add Comment  icon or Add a Comment link. The Enter a comment window appears.

  4. Enter your worksheet comment.

  5. Click the Save button. The Enter a comment window closes and the comment appears under the Worksheet summary.

  2. Click on the line items for which you are adding comments.

  3. Click the Add Comment  or Comment  icon. The Enter a comment or line item comments window appears.

  4. Enter your comment.

  5. Click the Save or Add Comment button. The window closes and the comment appears on the line item comments window.

Note

You can delete only comments you have added before they have been read by other users. This helps maintain the overall conversation as comments are often made referring to a previous comment.

  1. On the main page within the Budget feature, use one of the Search options in the Budget to Prepare for Next Year or This Year's Active Budget section to view your worksheets.

  2. Click on the worksheet for which you are deleting comments.

  3. Locate the worksheet comment to be deleted.

  4. Click the Delete icon. The worksheet comment is deleted.

Note
