Update Your Preferred Name

You have the option to update your preferred name on the Campus Portal. This is the name you prefer to be called on campus and is used throughout the system except where the use of the legal name is necessitated by state, federal, and institutional reporting requirements.

  1. Click the user icon and select My profile & settings from the drop-down menu.

  2. Click the down arrow in the upper-right corner of the About me box.

  3. Click the down arrow in the upper-right corner of the Preferred name box to expand it.

  4. Make the appropriate name changes.

  5. Click Save.

    Note

    Your request is processed and when approved, will appear throughout Desktop, J1 Web, and the Campus Portal except where legal name is required for state, federal, and institutional reporting purposes.
