Student Conduct - Director Access by Department Permissions

The default Student Conduct - Director Access by Department role is for users who need full access to incident reports, cases, and appeals. Users in this role can view, edit, and assign all incident reports and cases, not just those assigned to them. They can also manage student conduct roles, including specifying which conduct departments other users have access to.

Note

This role includes an Associations tab that allows role administrators to control the user's access to specific modules and conduct departments. For example, a user might be given access to the Residence Life and Greek departments, but not Title IX or Dean of Students. See Create Role for more information about how to manage associations.

Incident Reports

Actions and access apply to incident reports. All permissions are enabled by default.

Create and submit incident reports.

Can view all incident reports

View all incident reports, including those assigned to or submitted by other users.

Can edit all incident reports

View and edit all incident reports, including those assigned to or submitted by other users.

Can reassign incident reports

Reassign incident reports to other conduct departments.

Can merge incident reports into a single report

Merge multiple incident reports into one report.

Can view conduct history

View a history of a student's incident reports and cases.

Case Management

Actions and access apply to cases. All permissions are enabled by default.

View all cases assigned to departments they have permissions to see.

Can edit all cases

Edit all cases assigned to departments they have permissions to see.

Can reassign cases

Reassign cases to another conduct department.

Can create cases

Create new cases from incident reports.

Can view all sanctions

View all sanctions associated with a case or incident report.

Can edit all sanctions

Edit all sanctions associated with a case or incident report.

Can apply sanctions to all cases

Apply sanctions to all cases assigned to departments they have permissions to see.

Can generate charges for sanctions

Generate charges for fines and other sanctions and submit the charges to the student's account.

Student Conduct Roles

Actions and access apply to Student Conduct system roles. All permissions are enabled by default.

View all Student Conduct roles on the Student Conduct Roles page.

Can edit non-default role names and descriptions

Update the names and descriptions of non-default Student Conduct roles (customized roles created by users) on the Student Conduct Roles page.

Can create roles

Create new Student Conduct roles based on existing role templates.

Can copy roles

Create new Student Conduct roles by copying an existing role and customizing it.

Can add and remove user role assignments

Assign users to roles or remove a user from a role.

Can change role permissions

Add or remove permissions for a role.

Can change what the role can access

Add or remove module access for a Student Conduct role.

Can delete non-default roles

Delete non-default roles as needed. Default roles cannot be deleted.
