Alternative GPA Overview
In addition to the current-term and the career GPAs, Jenzabar One offers two alternative GPAs.
Some schools need several calculations of GPA beyond term and career calculations. Having the capability to run several simultaneous GPA calculations can be particularly helpful for tracking progress toward graduation, to assist in retention efforts, and for reporting. In addition, control over treatment of repeat and forgiven courses can be important in the various GPA calculations.
The fields are referred to as Alternative GPA fields, but your school can rename the individual fields. In the documentation, we'll still call them Alt 1 GPA and Alt 2 GPA.
The Alternative GPA fields are available if your school has Registration license.
Set up Alternative GPA on the Registration Administration hub in Registration Settings and in several definitions pages:
Repeat, Transcript, and GPA Settings, General Settings
Forgiven Course Recalc Definitions
Credit Type Definitions
Catalog Course
Grade Table Definitions
After it's set up, the alternative GPA information is available on official and unofficial transcripts and on Student Information pages.
Alternative GPA is also available in Desktop. You can set it up on the Registration Configuration window (Repeat / Transcript / GPA tab), the Catalog window, and these definition windows:
Forgiven Course Recalc Definition
Credit Type Definition
Grade Table Definition
After it's set up, the alternative GPA information is available on official and unofficial transcripts and the Student Information window, Student Registration window, and Student Inquiry window.
No. Alternative GPA offers two extra GPA trackers, Alt 1 and Alt 2, and is included with the Registration license.
Scholarship GPA (also called Special GPA) is a separate feature available with the Scholarship GPA license. It includes settings that allow your school to calculate the GPA relevant to scholarships. The courses can be in multiple divisions. See the Scholarship GPA Overview topic in the Desktop online help for more information.
