Manage Event Action Items
Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
Use this page to associate a J1 Desktop action or action list to a J1 Web event invitee status. Actions/action lists associated to an event invitee status will be added to the Notepad of those invitees who are in the J1 Desktop system when the daily procedure process runs.
Notice
You can use an action to send an event invitation and then associate that action with the Not Yet Invited status in J1 Web. When the Scheduled for date passes, the action is added to Notepad for the invitees in the Not Yet Invited status and run with the J1 Desktop daily procedure. After the action has been added to the invitees’ Notepad by the J1 Web scheduler and it has been marked complete via the Daily Procedure process, the invitees’ status for the event will be updated to Invite Sent.
Note
Emails are the only action that can be automatically scheduled to send at a specified time via the daily procedure process. You must manually print invitations or address labels after the merge document has been processed via the J1 Desktop Daily Procedure window.
Requirements for this Feature
Actions and action lists you want to occur in J1 Web Events Management must be defined in J1 Desktop Communication Management (Notepad). Your school may already have these in place or they may need to be created. See the J1 Desktop help for detailed information about Actions and Action Lists.
You must be in a J1 Web Events Management role with permission to apply event action items to events. See the Edit Role and Manage System Users help for more details about user roles.
You must associate the J1 Desktop Communication Management (Notepad) action/action list with the appropriate invitee/participant status on the Manage Event Action Items page.
