Activity Season Definitions

The Activity Season Definitions page is where you define the seasons that you will associate with sports and activities. For example, you might create definitions for spring and winter, then associate one of those seasons to a sport or activity when you define it. Typically, you would only need a few season definitions, but you are able to tailor them to align with the way your school sets up activities.

To create and edit activity season definitions, you must be in the Student Activities Administrator or Student Life Module Manager role (or a role copied from one of those roles) with the "Can manage activity season definitions" permission enabled.

Activity season definitions are used throughout modules in J1 Web where staff manage sports and activities.

On the Student Activities Administration Hub page, select Activity season definitions from the Hub options drop-down. The Activity Season Definitions page opens.

From here, you can filter, sort, and expand the rows to see as many or as few definitions as you want.

  • To limit the number of definitions listed, enter characters or words in the Quick Filters field and select Add ['search text]' when it appears.

  • Click on any column heading to sort the list by that column.

  1. On the Student Activities Administration Hub page, select Activity season definitions from the Hub options drop-down. The Activity Season Definitions page opens.

  2. Click the Create definitions button. The Create Activity Season Definitions pop-up opens.

    Required fields are indicated by a red asterisk.

  3. Enter a unique code in the Code field. The code can contain a maximum of 10 characters.

  4. Enter a brief Description of the activity season (e.g., "Spring" or "Year Round"). The description can contain a maximum of 60 characters.

  5. Select Yes or No from the Active drop-down to indicate if the definition is active or not. The field defaults to Yes.

  6. Select Yes or No from the Display in Drop-Down menu to indicate if the definition will be included in relevant drop-down menus. The field defaults to Yes.

  7. Click Save and create another to save the new definition and clear the fields so you can create another. Click Create and close to save the definition and close the pop-up.

  1. On the Activity Season Definitions page, click the Edit icon next to the definition you need to edit. The Edit Activity Season Definition pop-up opens.

    All fields are editable.

  2. Make changes as needed.

  3. Click Update to save the changes and close the window.

You might not have the necessary permissions to view and create activity season definitions. Make sure you are in the Student Activities Administrator or Student Life Module Manager role (or a role copied from one of those roles) with the "Can manage activity season definitions" permission enabled.
