Messages
Note
Starting with 2021.1 the Message Center is the Notification Center where you can view automated system messages such as changes to permissions or advising cycle milestones. Just like the Message Center, the Notification Center is available from the Universal Toolbar and includes several similar features.
Messages from previous versions of J1 Web can be viewed in the Message Archive. You can see all the original information in messages you sent, received, or were included on from other users. These messages are view-only meaning you cannot reply to them. Create a new communication or use notes and comments to connect with other J1 Web user.
Use messages to send and receive communication with other J1 Web users. Messages include a link to the page to which they are related to provide quick access to message-related information. Messages can also be designated Important to prioritize them and enable a message notification to be forwarded to your designated email address immediately.
Notice
An event coordinator may message a conference room point of contact about upcoming maintenance work or an advising administrator may receive an automatic message when the time frame for setting up advising appointments approaches.

Quickly access information related to the message using the link to the page from where the To Do originated.
Access your messages from your Home page, Universal toolbar, and the Message Center.
Access messages you sent to others from your Message Center.
View all messages in a central location from the Message Center. Use sorting and filtering features to quickly find specific messages.
Forward message notifications to a designated email address on a routine basis and immediately when you receive a message designated Important
.
At this time, messages cannot be deleted as it may be important to maintain a historical message record for a student or advisor. Message archiving will be available in a future release.
