Designate a Person as a Student in J1 Web

This option appears in the Person options drop-down for persons in the system who aren't students. That drop-down appears on all of the person pages available from the a person's Summary page.

  1. On a person's Summary page or any of their person pages, click the Person options drop-down and select Designate person as student. The Designate Person as a Student pop-up opens.

  2. Click in the Division field, and select a division for the student.

  3. Click in the Web Registration Group field, and select an option.

    Tip

    Web Registration Groups are also called Tel/Web Groups, Registration Control Groups, or just Registration Groups. They're categories to help you control which students can register for what, in which ways, and when.

  4. Under Create Student User and J1 Campus Portal Login, click the button to select Yes or No. If this is set to Yes, a student account is automatically created in the Campus Portal.

  5. Click the Designate as student button. The person is now designated as a student.

If the person doesn't exist in the system at all, you can create a person from either of the following locations:

  • Student General Information page in the Registration Operations hub

  • Create Person page in the Person Management hub
