Year End Promotion by Courses

Overview

The Year End Promotion by Courses utility allows administrators to move students from one level to the next based on their successful completion of one or more courses. Before the utility can be used, courses must be added using the Year End Promotion Settings - Course utility. Click the Add button and select both a course and a corresponding level that the student will be promoted from upon completion. Institutions can select a single course that must be completed for promotion from each level or multiple courses. Though keep in mind that a student will need to have received a passing grade in all of the listed courses to be eligible for promotion from their level.

Once course associations have been added, the Year End Promotion by Courses page provides a summary of students who are eligible for promotion. Click a number link to view a complete list of the students eligible for promotion from that level in a pop-up window. Check the Promote box for each level and click Submit to promote the students. Each student's Biographic page will be updated to display their new level.

If students in your institution are promoted based on the number of hours they've completed rather than by completing specific courses, use the standard Year End Promotion utility.
