FACTS Import

Nelnet's previous payment system was called FACTS. At the time of the SONIS 3.3 release, Nelnet has decided to end support for this product. SONIS member institutions who use Nelnet and want SONIS integration are asked to switch to the updated Nelnet product, Nelnet Enterprise.

Nelnet Enterprise allows students to set up payment plans on a per-term basis. Through a variety of real-time and batch file actions, the student’s balance in SONIS will be kept in sync with their balance in Nelnet Enterprise. Existing FACTS payment plans will run to completion, but students will no longer be able to access those accounts from SONIS once the school upgrades to SONIS 3.3. Students with accounts in the legacy system will need to use the Nelnet portal to access their accounts.
