Bulk External Texting

The Bulk External Texting utility is used to send text messages to users through Jenzabar SONIS utilizing external applications. The two applications Jenzabar SONIS integrates with are Everbridge and Twilio. Everbridge is typically used only for emergency texting while Twilio can be used for a wider variety of messages. Before using either program, they must be set up using the Texting Provider Accounts utility. Once one of these clients has been set up, one of them must be selected as the process to be used in SONIS via the Text Processes utility.

Once a process has been set up and activated, texts can be sent to groups of users with the Bulk External Texting utility. Select a group of users by making selections from the Module Status, Division, Campus, Department, Level, Cohort, and List Name menus.

Craft a message in the Text Message field and click Submit to continue. The following page will display the results of the search. Only Jenzabar SONIS users with a valid phone number in the Cell Phone field in their primary  Address record will be texted.
