Highlighted Features
Clients now have the option to export 1098-T records to Excel where the data can be sorted, filtered, and combined with other data.
The ISIR Utility has been improved to allow upload of up to ten ISIR files at a time.
Several updates were made to the JFA integration to export more data and provide better functionality for JFA users.
My Reminders and My Activities have been separated into two tabs. My Reminders has been improved by adding a counter to the notification icon and a Read All button to allow users to mark all messages as read at one time.
Several pages within SONIS have been enhanced to include an option to exclude courses from Satisfactory Academic Progress calculations. Additionally, the SAP process has been updated to include more information about Financial Aid Credits Earned.
An instant messaging function has been added to Jenzabar SONIS. This will allow users and administrators to directly message in real-time with other SONIS users and administrator, both as a group or as individuals.
Added the ability to utilize QuickBooks Online as the sole General Ledger system for posting transactions to accounting has been added to Jenzabar SONIS. This improvement further allows transactions to be posted directly to QuickBooks Journal Entries using the Intuit API.
New Functions
Administration
This new page behaves the same as Post Transactions but exclusively posts to the individuals in a selected list and provides the ability to save unposted transactions to a new or existing list, which can be accessed for later processing.
Added the ability for OK Education Level to be mapped to Jenzabar SONIS Education Level and automatically associate the value in the OK Name Table with the student's student identifier.
A preferred pronouns drop box has been added to the Biographic page. There are three default values, a sort order, and the ability for a Jenzabar SONIS administrator to add additional pronouns or turn the feature off.
A report was created that allows Jenzabar SONIS member institutions to easily compile the data needed for 90/10 revenue reporting.
A report was created that allows Jenzabar SONIS member institutions to view attendance entries by course. An option is provided to display only courses for which no attendance has been recorded on specific days.
A report has been created that will allow Jenzabar SONIS member institutions that offer clock hours to compare student clock hours completed with the amount paid for tuition, by student name, campus, and department, for a given date range.
This new report, which is an extension of the existing Building IPEDS 12-Month Enrollment: Enrollment Unduplicated Headcount report. It has three categories, can be viewed as PDF or Excel, and should display the same students as the existing report.
Jenzabar SONIS now offers an integration with Active Campaign, a marketing and CRM software. The integration uses an API connection to send data back and forth between the two systems.
AmeriaBank can now be used as a payment gateway for credit card processing.
An integration between Jenzabar SONIS and Campus Ivy, a financial aid management software, has been developed. Awards and disbursements can be imported using existing Campus Ivy exports and students can be exported from SONIS to Campus Ivy.
An entirely new Element451 integration is now included, using the Element451 API to push and pull data to and from both systems. It also allows for slug customization.
An import utility was created to support SONIS member institutions who utilize eValue.
The new General Ledger Setup utility gives administrators access to change their designated general ledger. Switching to a different general ledger system changes the format of file generated by Post to Accounting.
Jenzabar SONIS has been updated to allow the use of both the Enrollment and Disbursements Refunds exports with Heartland-ECSI financial processing.
A timed task has been added that will allow the Import Names function to be run automatically on a schedule. A notifier has been created to accompany it.
Mailchimp released an updated API that allows for additional data points to be sent from SONIS to Mailchimp and received from Mailchimp in SONIS. SONIS was improved to integrate with this API.
A notifier has been added to the Timed Tasks Scheduler allowing the setup of notifications to a designated group email when Moodle attendance is imported. Reminders can be added to a group as well.
The ability to display an acceptance to a program letter to applicants has been added. The letter is managed in Dispositions for Applicants.
Clients can now use certificate-based SAML authentication for single sign-on in addition to the previous method.

Enhancements
Administration
The EDExpress Direct Loan Disbursement import process has been enhanced to allow adjustments using the Net Adjustment Amount. Both the Direct Loan and Pell Grant import processes will now display the Disbursement Sequence Number from the file as well.
The EDExpress import will no longer allow the posting of any transactions which have a date that is prior to the system variable date. The user will be alerted if the import contains dates prior to the system variable date.
Clients can now send applicants to JFA using the JFA User Export and filtering by disposition. Only dispositions marked "Disposition JFA" are included in the menu.
New messaging has been added to the JFA Anticipated Awards and Disbursements pages to show the progress of large updates from the API. Additionally, a Reminder will be sent when the import process completes.
The API used to extract data from SONIS and send it to Jenzabar Financial Aid was enhanced to include additional and improved data fields: Address Country Code, Applicant Entry Date Range, and CIP Code. Additionally, social security number is no longer required, so international students can be included.
Any student with a Leave of Absence record is now considered withdrawn for the purposes of JFA. Withdrawn is listed as a Module Status to be selected for export.
Added Financial Edge Export CSV support to the existing Post to Accounting Export functions.
The PowerFAIDS import will no longer allow the posting of any transactions which have a date that is prior to "No Post to Billing or Post Transactions" date in System Variables. The user will be alerted if the import contains dates prior to the date.
PowerFAIDS export processes can now include multiple dispositions.
The PowerFAIDS Anticipated Awards Import function now accepts an .xlsx file extension.
Checklist item feedback has now been separated into two records, one that can be viewed by the applicant and one that is only viewable by other administrators.
An enhancement was made to allow the search feature to filter using real-time data within SONIS.
The Post Courses button that appears when registering a student using the Post to Billing to Post to Pre-Billing option has been enhanced to be more visible and provide instructions.
Previously, the Semester Academic Status report had set requirements for honors and probation and ignored changes to the Honors/Probation table and the Honors/Probation utility. The report now honors these settings.
The BlackBaud Accounting integration is no longer used by Jenzabar SONIS member institutions. Therefore the Web Option to run BlackBaud Accounting functions has been removed.
The Transaction Code Mappings utility has been improved to allow sorting on all column values and improved data filtering and pagination.
The Canvas Blueprint CSV Export has been improved to include semester start and end dates and the Canvas Blueprint ID, as well as to allow modification of course name and display order.
The NSC reporting function has been improved to include additional data fields: the First-Time Full-time Student flag, the High School Code, the Pell Grant Recipient flag, the Citizenship flag, and the Move to OPE ID.
To assist Canadian SONIS member institutions in accurately reporting enrollment for international students, updates were made to allow the use of International Standard (ISO) 3166 Codes.
The Element451 import has been enhanced to include the response to the Hispanic ethnicity question within Element451.
The Evaluations utility has been updated to allow evaluation questions to be used to ask set questions to individuals providing references for applicants.
Security improvements were made to ensure that malicious URLs could not be injected via script commands.
The ISIR import has been updated to accept the new 2022-2023 format.
The Jenzabar SONIS integration with Nelnet Enterprise has been updated to utilize the Nelnet API.
The Notification Assignments page has been updated to more clearly communicate the type of Nelnet export being processed.
The Excel export version of the report was enhanced to allow the display of up to five tribal affiliations, per student.

Order Tracking types and sub-types have been improved to allow the association of types with sub-types, thereby limiting the display of sub-types in selection menus to only those associated with an order type.
An enhancement was made to accommodate the updated file schema and functionality in Regent Award Version 5.3. Those SONIS member institutions wishing to continue to use the pre-5.3 functionality must contact support for assistance.

Table Maintenance has been improved to display in a more esthetic manner and a responsive search has been added to assist with efficient locating of desired tables.

Once a Web Option has been activated, users can choose to view their password when logging in to make it easier to type correctly.
Faculty Portal
The Student/Faculty Registration Only section of Web Options, was enhanced with a multi-select menu allowing the selection of semester and school year combinations. When semester/school year combinations are selected, these will become the terms available for registration in the student and faculty portals.
Online Application
The Education page in the Online Application has been redesigned to be more intuitive and user-friendly.
The Online Application References page has been updated to allow the display of questions for those persons providing references for applicants. Additionally, the ability to designate required fields, and/or remove other fields from displaying in the application, has been added to this page.
Student Portal
The Student/Faculty Registration Only section of Web Options, was enhanced with a multi-select menu allowing the selection of semester and school year combinations. When semester/school year combinations are selected, these will become the terms available for registration in the student and faculty portals.
Previously, anticipated charges would only appear in student Billing when using the Post to Pre-Billing option in Web Options. Now they can be displayed when using the Basic Registration setting as well.
