Time Period Grade Import

Overview

Institutions that give their students time period grades can use the Time Period Grades Import function in the Systems hub to bring these grades into Jenzabar SONIS. The utility is very simple, with a Choose File button to select the import file and a Submit button to run the process. Error checking is included to prevent duplicates and other mistakes.

Import File

The import file must be in XLSX format. The following fields must be included for the import to successfully process:

  • SONIS ID (soc_sec)

  • Course Section ID (SID)

  • Time Period Code

  • Numeric Grade

Caution

The SID column should be formatted as text before the section numbers are added to ensure that all sixteen digits display properly.

Potential Errors

The following errors will be display:

  • Student not in section.

  • Section not valid.

  • Section does not use time period grades.

  • Grade not valid.

  • Student is currently withdrawn.

  • Time period listed is not active.

  • Time period grade exists for this student.
