Constituent Contact

Overview

A constituent's contact and tax information may be maintained on Biographic, but their corporate/business status or corporate/business contact details should be entered and maintained on the Constituent Contact page, available in the Users hub. The constituent's giving history is maintained on Constituent Information.

An overview of development pages is available here.

Address Type Option

Some schools may wish to create an address type that is specifically for constituents. To do so, navigate to the Address Types table in the Table Maintenance utility and either create a new record or edit an existing record. Place a 1 in the Constituent field to mark this address type as for constituents. Only one address type can have this designation.

When no constituent address type exists, each user's Constituent Contact page is populated with data from the user's primary Address record. When a new constituent address type is created, the existing address data in all Constituent Contact pages is cleared out so development personnel can start fresh. This data is retained in the user's Address record.

Note

If an existing address type is designated as the constituent type and the constituent in question has an address record of this type, the Constituent Contact page will be populated with the data from this address record instead of being cleared out.

If you remove contact information from Constituent Contact pages by mistake and wish to restore it, simply delete the constituent address type or replace the 1 in the Constituent field with a 0.

When new data is added to the Constituent Contact record and the page is submitted, this data is also saved in the the user's Address record under the designated address type.

Any future changes made to the address with the constituent address type will also be saved to the Constituent Contact page as these records are now linked.
