Administration Redesign
As part of the Jenzabar SONIS 2023 release, the Administration portal was given a cleaner and clearer look, improved navigation, and User and Course creation wizards. Each area is covered in detail in the link. A short video covering the redesign is available here.
The Course Creation Wizard, available from Search Results and the Courses hub, provides administrators a utility to quickly create new courses and course sections. The user is stepped through the process of creating a new course or section, whether it be home institution or transfer. This will help with consistency and integrates existing default data points.

New Functions
Administration
A new feature on the System Variables page makes it easy to upload and resize a custom logo that replaces the default top-nav logo in the Admin portal. This same tool can be used for the mobile logo and the favorites icon.
Students can now make a request through the Student portal that the school hold their financial aid refund instead of receiving a disbursement of excess funds. This request shows up on the Payables report as well as during the Nelnet, ECSI, and Transact export process.
A new utility has been added which allows the import of bulk institution data.

The PowerFAIDS Cloud: Anticipated Awards utility is used to import anticipated award information in a .CSV file from PowerFAIDS Cloud to Jenzabar SONIS.
The PowerFAIDS Cloud: Disbursement utility is used to import award disbursement information in a .CSV file from PowerFAIDS Cloud to Jenzabar SONIS.
With PowerFAIDS' move to a cloud-based system, PF can now accept .CSV import files. The PF Cloud: Programs Export Utility, available from the Financials menu, was added to accommodate this and allow users to create the required Programs information file.
The PowerFAIDS Cloud User Exports table is used in conjunction with the PF Cloud: Users Export page. After user export types are created, they can be managed from this table.
The PowerFAIDS Cloud User Export Fields Type table is used in conjunction with the PF Cloud: Users Export page to define the format which a given data point from Jenzabar SONIS must be in for a designated field within PowerFAIDS Cloud. The table is pre-populated with the necessary data types.
With PowerFAIDS' move to a cloud-based system, PF can now accept .CSV import files. The PF Cloud: Users Export Utility, available from the Financials menu, was added to accommodate this and allow users to create various exports of prospect, applicant, and student information for import to PowerFAIDS. These exports can be set up to include custom and calculated fields, and to be run automatically as a scheduled task.
Student Portal

Enhancements
Administration
At-Risk alerts can now be activated by module status and midterm grades have been added as potential marker option. Additionally, items can now be archived to reset scores either globally or on an individual level.
The Bulk Attendance Exclude Summary Attendance courses option was changed to Exclude Non-Attendance Checking courses.
Values were split into two separate columns, "Charges" and "Credits," to make the report easier to read.
The ability to send post-semester withdrawn student records to the Clearinghouse in the Graduates Only export process was added
The Import Default box that appears when new dispositions are created in Dispositions for Applicants previously only applied to applications imported from third party applications. It now applies to internal applications imported through Import Functions as well. A checkbox has been added there that can be unchecked to import an application without assigning the default disposition.
Additional fields were added to the Department table to allow the use of user-defined fields in this table, as is consistent with other tables throughout the Jenzabar SONIS Administrative portal.
The Element451 Utility Export and Review Batches functions were improved to clearly display to the user what occurred with the creation of the batches.
The Honors/Probation display name field length was increased to 100 characters to allow for these assignments to have longer names when needed.
The language for identified errors in the import was enhanced to make it clear to users what has caused the error.
The Integration ID area of the Biographic page will now store and display Perceptive and JRM IDs. A script is included to remove the IDs from their current locations and place them in the integration ID area.
The ability to import the 2023-2024 ISIR has been added to Import ISIR.
The JFA User Export has been updated to alumni as well as withdrawn students when selecting users for export from Jenzabar SONIS to JFA.
The JFA User Export now offers the option to include articulated transfer credits in the cumulative credits earned.
JFA User Export has been updated to include additional academic history.
The notifier has been enhanced to include an option to receive details of each student's schedule changes.
The Online Application Setup has been updated to make reference attachments optional.
The Pell Tables were updated to correctly calculate Pell Grants for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
Administrators can now change the date attached to a batch of transactions. The update only applies to a select group of general ledger software. See link for details.
The PowerFAIDS Anticipated Awards Import process was improved to initially default adjusting awards to an unchecked display status. Before this release, adjusting awards were checked to import by default.
The Post to Accounting functions have been updated to allow summary journal entries to be exported to QuickBooks Online.
The Course Section Roster (RB) report has been improved to allow searching by contract number in the filters.
The Email Address column was widened to allow longer email addresses to display appropriately.
Added the ability for users to set Student ID as a default inclusion in Regent Award exports.
The Regent Awards export file was tweaked with new column header descriptions provided by FA Solutions.
If users elect to Include Details, the process has been updated to include individual students’ course information for each schedule change identified. The process has been further modified to include all schedule changes from the last time the process was run.
The Transaction Codes Utility has been improved to prevent changes to the activity code and activity type once a transaction code has been used.
A JavaScript validation popup and error message have been added to the Calendar Years table to ensure that the School Years field is formatted correctly.
Faculty Portal
Faculty members can now be granted the option to update their preferred pronouns through the Update Bio page in the Faculty portal.
Online Application
The Online Application Setup has been updated to make reference attachments optional.
Student Portal
The "Prerequisites Missing" error messaging that appears during student registration has been improved to add clarity for users.
Students who have holds will now see a red warning at the top of their Bio page. This warning is also a link that takes them to their Holds page, which has been redesigned for added clarity.
