Competency Grade Import
Overview
The Competency Grade Import allows administrators to import scores for competencies and other assessment tests. The data from the Excel file is written to each student's Competency table only if a matching record does not already exist for the course, school year, and semester specified. Data not contained in the import file is retrieved from the name record, the competency record, and the student course record. Imported records are automatically locked with the CMC start date defaulted to the current date.
For more on CMCs and other competency-based grading, see the Career Major Courses & Competencies overview page.
Import File
The Competency Import file must be in XLS format. It should contain the following values:
SID - The section ID of the course to which the competency is attached and the student has taken. The section ID for a class can be found through Izenda or Query Builder 2.0, or by running the Course Section ID report.
SOC_SEC - The student's SONIS ID.
GRADE - The letter grade that the student is receiving for the competency.
WTG_AVERAGE - The weighted average, the numerical grade for the competency.
COMP_RID - The numerical ID associated with the competency being graded. This number is found in the CMCs table within Table Maintenance.
