LDAP Setup
Overview
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, abbreviated as LDAP, is a common method for authenticating users that can be used for Jenzabar SONIS access. The Active Directory (AD) in Windows is the most familiar directory service, but LDAP compatible directories are available from other sources. As long as they meet the LDAP industry specification, they work with SONIS. Active Directory user names for staff are setup and stored via User Security. Active Director user names for students and other portal users are added through each user's Biographic page. Only administrators with the AD User ID User Security privilege have access to view and modify this field.
The LDAP Setup page in the Systems hub is where LDAP connection settings are stored. Select an LDAP Type and enter the appropriate information in each field. For more information on setup and to deploy the LDAP activation script, contact Jenzabar SONIS Support.
