Student Overview Block on an Alert Page

Use the Student Overview block to view general and demographic information from (and a link to) the student's Person Information Details page. The Person Information Details link opens the student's Person Information Details page in a new browser tab.

Information comes from the student Person and Student Information pages. Fields include the following. Database locations are provided here because person information is stored in a variety of tables.

  • General Information

    • Name / ID: NameMaster.first_name, NameMaster.last_name

      Tip

      Click the student's name and ID to open their Summary pop-up. From there you can navigate to their Person and Student Information pages, their conduct history, and their workflows (if you're in roles with permission to those pages).

    • Preferred Name: NameMaster.perferred_name

    • Pronouns: biograph_master.GenderPronounDefinitionAppid

    • Date of Birth / Age: biograph_master.birth_dte

  • Demographic Information

    • Citizenship Status: biograph_master.citizenship_sts

    • Disability Status: biograph_master.disability_sts

    • Ethnicity: ethnic_report_dtl.ethnic_rpt_def_num

    • Race: ethnic_report_dtl.ethnic_rpt_def_num

    • First Generation Student: student_master.first_generation

    • International Student: ethnic_race_report.eligible_noncitizen

    • Veteran: military_service_master.veteran

    • Receiving Veteran Benefits: military_service_master.receiving_veterans_benefits

    • Other Military Service: military_service_master.is_active_duty_armed_svcs, military_service_master.national_guard, military_service_master.reserves, military_service_master.rotc

      Note

      Other Military Service is marked as Yes if any of the Active Duty Armed Services, National Guard, Reserves, or ROTC options are selected in the student's Person Information Details.

    • Student Type: student_master.resid_commuter_sts

    • Tribal Affiliation: tribal_information.tribal_affiliation_def_appid

Permissions

To view the Student Overview block, users need the "Can view student details tab" and/or the "Can view student details tab on confidential alerts" permissions found in the Student Success Administrator role, the Alert Assignee role, and roles made from them.

View the Student Overview Block

  1. From the Alert Tracking page, click the Alert Summary link on an alert. The alert's Summary page opens in a new tab.

  2. Click the Student Details tab. The tab opens, and the Student Overview tab is visible.

  3. To view the student's Information Summary pop-up, click the student's name or ID. Their Summary pop-up opens. For more information on the pop-up, see the Alert Tracking topic.

  4. To view the student's Person Information Details page, click the Person Information Details link. The page opens in a new browser tab.
