Tuition Status Definitions
Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
Use the Tuition Status Definitions page to define the tuition statuses your school needs. Each definition has a Code, a Description, and an Active checkbox. Examples include the following:
In state
Out of state
In district
Out of district
National Merit Scholarship Finalist
Your school may have different definitions.
Tuition Status definitions are used on the Student Information Details page, Term Academics and Financials tab. In the Tuition Status drop-down, users can select an active definition. In Desktop, the definitions are used on the Student Information window, Student tab, Financial subtab, in the Tuition Status drop-down.
Note
The Tuition Status value in Student Information can affect a student's bill.
The "Can manage tuition status definitions" permission is available in the Registration Module Manager and Registrars roles (and roles made from them).
In Desktop, you can create and maintain Tuition Status definitions on the Tuition Status Definitions window.
Tuition status definitions are stored in the Student Tuition Status Definition table. A student's assigned tuition status is stored in the Student Term table.

How To
From the Registration Administration hub, in the Hub options drop-down, click Manage Definitions, and select Tuition Status Definitions. The Tuition Status Definitions page opens.
Tip
You can also use the page search in the upper right corner of J1 Web. Just start typing the name of the definition page you want, and select it in the results.
To limit the list of definitions, enter characters, words, or phrases in the Quick Filters field.
To sort the list by one of the columns, click the column's heading.
Click the Create definitions button. The Create Tuition Status Definitions pop-up opens.
Enter a Code, up to 10 characters (required). The code doesn'tneed to be unique, but the combination of the code plus the description must be unique.
Enter a Description of up to 255 characters (required).
Set the Active option to active or inactive (required). Inactive definitions are not available for users to select in drop-downs.
Click either Save and create another or Create and close.
Click the Edit icon
on the row of a definition. The edit pop-up opens.You can edit the Description and the Active field, but not the Code. Edit the fields as needed. For guidance, see the descriptions in Create Tuition Status Definitions.
Click the Update button.
Select the checkboxes next to the rows you want to export.
From the Options drop-down, select Download to Excel. The Download to Excel pop-up opens.
Select options for the Excel format and data columns.
Click Download. Your .xlsx or .zip file is saved in the file location that you have set in your browser settings.
