Working with an Introduction

If appropriate, you can create an introduction in any instance of the Learning Tools feature. Your introduction can consist of text, images, or both. When you add an introduction, typically it is placed at the top of the feature instance, above any learning tool links that are available.

Only users who belong to a role with the instance-specific Can Set Up Tools permission can create, modify, or delete an introduction. To create an introduction in a particular feature instance, a user must belong to a role that has the instance-specific Can Set Up Tools permission.

If only one tool is active in the feature instance, and that tool is set up to display within the portal page (as opposed to in a pop-up), then the tool will launch automatically whenever the feature instance is maximized. With this setup, the introduction will not be shown when the feature is maximized, nor will links for creating or modifying the introduction.

Further, if the feature instance is the only feature on the page, then by default it is always maximized.

For help changing this setting so that your introduction shows up, refer to Prevent a Tool From Loading Automatically.
