Working with Remote Content
This section describes how to add elements to a Free-Form Content feature, how to modify them, etc. The Free-Form Content feature should allow you to enter any URL, but some Internet sites may cause problems for users. In some cases, a URL may try to break out of the frame in which the system attempts to display it. In these cases, when a user displays the page hosting the Free-Form Content feature, the system will present the user with a pop-up window asking if they want to navigate away from the site. In general, these types of URLs should not be used with the Free-Form Content feature.
Navigate to the appropriate Free-Form Content feature instance.
Click the link labeled Show external remote content.
The system displays a screen that includes a field labeled URL.
In the URL field, enter an address. For example, you can reference an HTML file stored on your school’s web server or an Internet site. The system will automatically add an http:// prefix if you do not type one in.
Click Save.
Navigate to the Free-Form Content feature instance that is hosting remote content.
Click the link labeled Edit Content.
The system displays a form where you can edit the URL you chose.
Do one of the following:
If you want to change the link, edit the text in the URL field.
If you want to remove remote content from this feature instance, delete everything in the URL field.
Click Save.
