Preface

This guide explains common tasks that a JICS administrator might need to complete.

Scope of this Guide

This guide covers the following:

  • How to configure and work with base JICS features.

  • Those tasks of e-Racer that can only be completed by someone who is a member of the Administrators role. For details on tasks that a faculty member might complete, see the faculty guide for e-Racer.

  • General information on how the CRMs communicate with the ERP system. For more detailed information on a particular CRM, see the guide for that module.

Prerequisite for JICS 2024.2 is SQL Server 2019 or Greater

JICS 2024.2 requires SQL Server 2019 or greater for a new JICS installation or an upgrade. The minimum Build Version for SQL Server 2019 is 15.0.2000.5.

When the installer is run, if the SQL Server is a lower version than 2019, the installer will stop running and show an error message.

Suggested Security Changes for IIS Servers

Jenzabar improved security on its IIS Servers by addressing weak Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols and cipher suites. Jenzabar recommends that its clients also address any weak TLS protocols and cipher suites on their IIS servers by performing the procedures in the JICS Guide for Improving Security on IIS Servers, which is a standalone document on MyJ (in the "Supplemental Documentation" section on the Documentation & Resources page).
