Managing Permissions in My Profile and Settings
You can control how members of each role use the My profile and settings feature through its global feature operations. The available operations are as follows:
Can Customize Additional Email – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can add multiple email addresses on the Contact information tab (described in Contact Information Tab).
Can Customize Email – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can modify their email addresses on the Contact information tab (described in described in Contact Information Tab). If the user does not have this permission, that information is read-only.
Can Customize Phone – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can modify their phone numbers on the Contact information tab (described in Contact Information Tab). If the user does not have this permission, that information is read-only.
Can Edit Address – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can modify their addresses on the Contact information tab (described in Contact Information Tab). If the user does not have this permission, that information is read-only.
Can Update Campus/Preferred Name – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can modify their preferred name as explained in About Me Tab. Changes made on this tab affect the way the user’s name appears in the portal. If the user does not have this permission, that information is read-only.
Can Update Legal Name – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can modify their legal name as explained in About Me Tab. If the user does not have this permission, that information is read-only.
Can Upload Photo – When this operation is enabled, the user can upload a profile image using the Photo tab (described in My Photo). If the user does not have this permission, the feature still includes the tab, but the user cannot upload a photo.
Can View Academic Information – When this operation is enabled, members of the role can review details about themselves on the Academic information tab as explained in Academic Information. If users do not have this permission, the My profile and settings feature will not include an Academic information tab.
Can View Employment Information – allows you to control users’ ability to view their employment information in the My profile and settings feature as explained in Employment Information.
To give a role a My profile and settings permission:
Follow the procedure described in Permit Global Feature Operations using the following options:
At step 4, select the My profile and settings (labeled “My Info”) feature.
At step 5, select the appropriate operations for the appropriate roles.
