Viewing Linked Assignment Information

If an assignment is linked to one or more other assignments, either as an original or as a copy of an original, the Edit Assignment screen and the File Cabinet will display information about the assignment’s relationship with its linked versions, as well as several options for managing that relationship. The following two subsections explain how to access this information.

How To

  1. Navigate to the appropriate Coursework feature instance.

  2. Locate the assignment for which you want to view information about linked assignments and click the corresponding pencil icon.

The system displays the Edit Assignment screen.

  3. Scroll down to the Linked options area, where you will see the following information:

    • The course section that is the source of the original assignment (if the assignment is a copy). A link is provided to allow you to access the course section.

    • The locations of any copies of the assignment (if the assignment is an original).

    • A link that allows you to access the original (if the assignment is a copy).

    • A link that allows you to unlink the assignment from its original (if the assignment is a copy).

    • A link that allows you to convert the assignment to a new original (if the assignment is a copy).

    Note

You will see the link to the original assignment only if you have the proper permissions (generally, if you are faculty in the course to which the assignment belongs).

  1. Navigate to the File Cabinet.

  2. In the list of assignments, click the link labeled More info next to the assignment in the Linked Assignment Options column.

The system displays a pop-up window that provides the following:

    • The course section that is the source of the original assignment. A link is provided to allow you to access the course section.

    • A link that allows you to access the original assignment.

      Note

You will see the link to the original assignment only if you have the proper permissions (generally, if you are faculty in the course to which the assignment belongs).
