Key Concepts

Within eLearning, a series of pages is known collectively as a context. For each course section you teach, you will have a course context, which is the place where you can prepare materials for your students, and where students can interact with you and with one another. Depending on your responsibilities at your institution, you may also have permission to manage additional contexts.

A context is made up of pages, which host features. Each feature is associated with a specific type of content or activity. For example, the Announcements feature lets you publish announcements, the Resources feature lets you post resources, and so on.

The ability of a user to view pages and use features will vary depending on the roles to which that user is assigned. Each role is associated with different privileges, and you have the opportunity to fine-tune these privileges each time you manage permissions for a particular page or feature.

This section describes these concepts in greater detail.
