Faculty View of Code Entry
Once the faculty (or administrators) have established the settings for Code Entry and the corresponding status timers for the course, they can view the class roster and which status each student is in. The prerequisites for the procedures below are the Code Entry settings have been entered for the course and the instructor has logged into eLearning.
Faculty also need to edit the class session (or add a new one) and select Code Entry from the Attendance Method drop-down list, enabling Code Entry for one specific class session. Steps are explained in the following Edit the Attendance Method section. (Faculty/administrators can use the batch Add/Edit tools to set many or all of their sessions to Code Entry, too.)
If the Code Entry settings have NOT been entered and the instructor navigates to the class session, the following screen displays a yellow message stating: "Code Entry cannot be used in this session until settings have been fully configured. Go here to see the Code Entry settings screen." The instructor can click the "here" link in the message to display the Code Entry settings screen and enter or edit the settings. Another option for the instructor to enter or edit settings is to click the Attendance Settings button on the top right of the Attendance screen. Refer to the Code Entry Setup section for details.

Edit the Attendance Method
If faculty want to change the Attendance method to Code Entry (or another option), they can edit the attendance session.
On the Attendance screen, click Edit Session.
Click the Attendance method drop-down arrow and select Code Entry.
Click the Save button.
View the Session Rolling Code Information
On the Attendance page, click the Launch button on the right of the Method: Code Entry field.
The session screen displays the Rolling code" button (set to On in this screen example), the numeric and QR codes, and session check-in information. When the Rolling code is set to On, a gray status bar below the numeric code indicates the timing for the display of the next new code. The gray bar increases in length as it gets closer to the display of the new code. When the Rolling code is set to Off, the gray status bar does not display.
As time passes, the Current Status field updates with the applicable status and associated icon. For example, the yellow Tardy icon displays when that status timer (such as 1 minute) has been triggered. The "Time Remaining until" the next status displays below the "Current Time".
