Working with ProctorFree

Before requiring your students to take an online test using ProctorFree, you can allow them to practice using the tool by setting up a practice test. To do so, while creating or editing the assignment in eLearning, click the checkbox labeled Require that students use ProctorFree for this test in the Enhanced integrity options section. Then select the Practice option in the adjacent drop-down list. The practice quiz will not count toward the students' grades.

After a student has taken a test in ProctorFree, you can review the test by clicking the link on the Student Assignment Details page. A separate link will appear for each submission from the student. This will take you to the ProctorFree website, where you can review the video of the student completing the assignment as well as any anomalies that may have occurred during the test.

When a Faculty user adds an Online Test assignment in Coursework, in the Step Two: Online Assignment Options Optional section, the Enhanced integrity options area enables a ProctorFree test to be configured.

When the Faculty user selects the Require that students use ProctorFree for this test option, new options appear on the screen. The Full proctoring option is selected by default.

Selecting the Enable secure browser option triggers other options to display below it. The Faculty user can select any of these settings.

When a student takes the test, the following options are displayed on their Assignment Details screen.

Clicking the Launch ProctorFree button will begin the process of launching the secure browser, where the student will be prompted to log back into JICS/eLearning. (The process to log into the secure browser does not use an eLearning "attempt" for ProctorFree.)

Then the student is redirected back to eLearning and will view the Assignment Details screen. At that point, the Start the [test/exam name] exam button is enabled, which they can click to start the exam.
