Managing and Grading Assignments

For each assignment in the Coursework feature, you will probably want to review students’ work, enter scores and so forth. There are a number of actions you might want to take with assignments you’ve created. Most of these tasks are things you would do once you’ve made the assignment available to students. These actions vary depending on the assignment’s format.

Formats

If you are using basic assignments, at some point you will need to enter grades for students and, optionally, feedback.

For an online test, you may want to do some or all of the following:

  • Monitor student progress.

  • Review students’ completed tests.

  • Manage the student’s ability to interact with the test by doing any of the following as needed:

    • Give a student a personalized start date or due date.

    • Manually close an assignment, ending a student’s ability to work on it and allowing you to enter a grade.

    • Reopen the assignment.

    • Give a student a personalized time limit.

    • Let a student rework an attempt on a test.

    • Grant a student a retake.

    • Grade the test and, optionally, enter feedback.
