Forms Feature Setup
Caution
Jenzabar provides a database connection for FormFlow forms that allows mapping to certain pre-defined fields in the database. While you may write to other fields, creating those mappings will require a stored procedure.

With J1 2026.2, FormFlow – Forms is called Forms and FormFlow – Workflow is called Form Approvals.
Working with Forms (Forms) and Form Approvals requires both general and feature-specific setup steps.

The following setup and configurations need to be done before getting started with Forms or Form Approvals.

Set up must be completed by an administrator.
General Setup
Note
The following steps may have already been completed during the initial setup of your Campus Portal. However, we recommend verifying that the appropriate steps are completed before using the Forms and Form Approvals features.

Create custom roles to build, update, and access your forms and form approvals tracks.

Determine who can view and interact with your forms and reports.

Connect your Campus Portal with J1 Web to use certain Forms features.

Note
The following steps are specific to the Forms and Workflow features and can be completed in any order. Note that the steps are completed in the Forms feature, but their setup is also required for the Form Approvals feature.

Establish a connection between your forms and your school's database to allow form information to populate database tables.

Create and manage forms that appear when users log in to your Campus Portal.

Use zip code look ups to automatically populate city and state fields in your forms.
