Resource Type Definitions

Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.

Resource type definitions identify classroom items that can be associated with nontraditional courses, events, and facilities (e.g., projectors, computers). You can add these resources to nontraditional courses on the Courses (Non-traditional) window, Resources tab in Desktop.

As of the 2022.1 release, resource types can be defined in J1 Web, but they cannot yet be associated with J1 Web events or facilities. Resource types can be associated with nontraditional courses in the Desktop for schools with the Non-Traditional license.

Desktop Location

You can also define resource types in Desktop on the Resource Definition window. Resource types defined in one system are available in the other.

The Resource Definition window is available with the Non-Traditional license. If your school doesn't have this license, resource type definitions are available only in J1 Web and cannot be seen in the Desktop.

Database Location

Resource type definitions are stored in the Resource Definition table: CM_RESOURCE_DEF.
