Key Status Definitions

Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.

The Key Status Definitions page lets you view, create, edit, and delete status codes for building and room keys. These status codes are used throughout the system wherever keys are assigned.

Jenzabar provides three status codes by default. These codes cannot be deleted.

As of the 2022.1 release, key status codes can be managed in both J1 Web and J1 Desktop. If your school is working in both systems, data entered in either system is saved to the other. For example, codes defined in J1 Web will also appear in the Key Status Definition window in Desktop.

Database Location

Key status definitions are saved to the Key Status Definition table (KEY_STATUS_DEF).

Permissions Required

The default Facilities Manager role has "Can manage key status definitions" permission.

  • Enter keywords in the Quick Filters field and press Enter.

  • Use the column sort buttons Sort Icon to reorder the list.

The Code has a 2-character limit.

  1. Select the rows you want to export to activate the Options button.

  2. From the Options drop-down menu, select Download to Excel.

  3. Select options for the Excel format and data columns.

  4. Click Download. Your .xlsx or .zip file is saved in the file location that you have set in your browser settings.

The Key Status is used when keys are created or assigned on the Key Definitions and Keys By Issuees pages. It is not required information, but it can be helpful to keep track of how many keys are available, issued, or lost at your school.
