WARNING for the Name Entry window: If the Duplicate Name Search function is called from the Name Entity window, any data entered prior to running the duplicate name search will be lost when you select a name on the Duplicate Name Search window and click OK. |
This window is accessed via the Process Internet Submissions window. It also appears if you have the Duplicate Name Search function turned on in the Maintain Configuration Table window and if duplicate names are found during the Save of a new name (i.e., ID). If the ID Number column is populated, the Duplicate Name Search function will not run.
This window allows you to determine if a specified person is already in the database and thus has an ID Number. If a match is found, it can be selected and brought back into the window from which the duplicate name search was initiated. Also, you can generate new ID Numbers from this window.
The Person to Match row consists of profile values of the person for whom you are looking for a match. The following columns can be populated (but is dependent on the data available on the window from which the duplicate name search was initiated):
Name (Last, First Middle) |
Preferred Name |
Nickname |
SSN |
Birth Date |
Gender |
Birth Name |
E-mail Address |
Address Line 1 |
Address Line 2 |
Address Line 3 |
City |
State |
ZIP |
Phone |
Mobile Phone |
The appropriate configuration criteria set in the Manage Duplicate Name Search Configurations window is used by the Duplicate Name Search function in locating matches. If no matches are found, the Duplicate Name Search window is not opened. If matches are found, the Duplicate Name Search window opens and the matches are displayed in the Results tab.
This window has two tabs: Criteria and Results. If you do not have permissions to the criteria used for a Duplicate Name Search, the Criteria tab is not available. However, since the Duplicate Name Search is performed automatically when the Duplicate Name Search window opens, the Results tab is always available.
