Edit Duplicate Name Search Configuration Window

This window allows you to define the search criteria and additional options (data columns, column lengths, conditional operations, and other options) available for a specific duplicate name search configuration (i.e., the configuration code selected on the Manage Duplicate Name Search Configurations window when you clicked the Create Configuration, Edit Configuration, or Copy Configuration button).

The more criteria columns you specify using 'AND', the fewer matching results you will get. Also, the more characters you specify for string comparisons, the fewer the results you will get.

If you are searching for a duplicate name from the Name tabs of various windows (Name Entity, Maintain Candidacy, Biographical Data, etc.), only the columns on the tab will be used for comparison. If you are searching for a duplicate name from the Process Internet Submissions window, all available data from the submission will be used for comparison.

If you are searching from the Quick Name Entry window or the Quick Candidate Entry window, any data entered on the window will be used for the search.

Buttons

The Move Up button moves the selected row up one row. It is not available for the top row.

The Move Down button moves the selected row down one row. It is not available for the bottom row.

Please review the AND/OR selections and parentheses selections after using the Move Up and Move Down buttons to ensure that they are correct. Changing the order of the conditions without double-checking the AND/OR and parentheses selections could cause the Duplicate Name Search evaluation to not work the way you expect it to.

The OK button saves the data to the DUP_SEARCH_CONFIG and DUP_SEARCH_DONFIG_FLD_LST tables. If there are conditions that need to be corrected, you will receive messages to correct them before the data can be saved.
