A/R works with the Bookstore Interface to transfer data files between A/R and Bookstore Interface. In order for the data transfer to update the databases, AR must be configured to use Balance Forward Accounting and the Bookstore Interface must be able to import and export files in an Intel-based/client-server environment.
A/R creates files of student records and corresponding student account credit limits (if applicable), as well as files of the courses offered for a specific year/term and the number of students registered for those specific courses. These files can then be used to update the Bookstore Interface database.
The Bookstore Interface creates a file that generates transactions on students accounts and allows you to create an audit report. The audit report displays a detailed list of all the transactions and allows you to identify and correct any errors before the data is imported. Transactions are posted with a JL (Journal Entry) source code, Point of Sale description, and an S (Suspended) status.
For detailed information on importing and exporting Bookstore data files, see your Bookstore's software documentation. You may need to purchase an interface from your Bookstore vendor.
