Your school can require web registration groups to obtain advisor clearance and/or advisor approval in order to register using the campus portal. You set those requirements on the Year Term Subterm window. You can view that status on the Web Registration Group Definition window, but you can't edit it there. If you add a new row on the Web Registration Group Definition window, the Web Registration Requirement is automatically set to N - None Required. To assign a requirement, go to the Year Term Subterm window.

Assigning a Web Registration Requirement is somewhat like putting a hold on the students in the web group.
