Standard Test Definition Window

The Standard Test Definition window helps standardize and validate existing Test Score data. The existing Test Scores Definition window allows user to enter unique codes and descriptions for entrance and placement tests, which may not be identified correctly for certain state or other regulatory reporting requirements. The Standard Test Definition window includes many commonly use standard tests and allows the user to link their internal test code with a validated and defined standard test.

 

A college in Arkansas is preparing to submit state-required term reports, which includes required information on student placement test types, scores, and status. All of the data has been recorded in J1 Desktop, but use customized test codes unique to their institution. For example, the ACT Using the Standard Test Definition window, they can 'map' their customized code to a standardized code (with built-in validations for scoring range) that can be easily translated and reported on state reports.


When creating or editing Standard Test Definitions, you can:

·       Map your test code to common pre-populated tests, such as SAT, ACT, MCAT, and others.

·       Define the valid test score range.

·       Establish an order of evaluation priority for certain tests.

·       Determine how the test is categorized. For example, tests may be categorized as graduate or undergraduate placement tests.

·       Associate a PESC EDI and/or PESC XML test code with the test.

Once created, map to an existing Test Score Definition to ensure proper data is included for reporting purposes.
