Tests and test elements are defined within the Admissions module.
The test code can define institutionally required placement tests or several aptitude test scores available to all candidates or a combination of both. The test code should be a generally defined test, not the specific aspects or parts of a test.
|
The test code would be SAT (not SAT Verbal or SAT Math). The test code is the primary definition while the math and verbal portions of the SAT are defined as the test elements. |
Test Scores functionality gives you the ability to:
· Track an unlimited number of test administrations that a candidate submits to your organization.
· Generate reports of candidate's highest test scores and/or average test scores using the Highest Test Score table, which contains a row for each test taken by candidates and includes the ID Number, test code, test element, highest test score, average test score, and the date the test was taken. This table is automatically updated by the system, and no additional keystrokes are required.
· Track a total/composite score for each test result that can be manually entered or calculated by the system based on what your office selects (e.g., the SAT total is the verbal score plus the math score so we would select the verbal element and the math element to calculate the total). Since the ACT composite is already calculated, the system does not need to perform this calculation.
· Designate a test or element as a pre- or post-test for a course for a student.
· Designate a test as a CTE assessment.
· Track CTE assessments passed.
You can designate a pre-test and/or a post-test for a course for a student. You can designate composite tests (such as the ACT) or test elements or subtests (such as the ACT Math). Setup involves the Test Scores Definition and Edit Test Elements windows, as well as the Test Scores and Edit Test Scores windows. Use the Student Course Lookup window to make the designations.
A test can be assigned
to any number of courses.
A course can link to
one pre-test and one post-test.
You can designate either a whole test (composite score) or a test element
(subtest) as a pre- or post-test.
You can designate a test as a possible assessment for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. These tests are third-party industry-based skills assessments for which your institution receives the results. They can include tests taken for certification, licensure, proficiency or other workforce related reasons. Examples include state examinations to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
You can designate a test with or without elements (subtests) or the subtests themselves as CTE Assessments.
Use the Test Scores Definition and Edit Test Elements windows to designate tests and subtests as CTE Assessments.
On the Test Scores and Edit Test Scores windows, you can mark a test to show that the student has passed the CTE assessment.
