Update Soundex Table Window

If for some reason you feel that the Soundex function is not functioning properly, you can use this window to manually update the Soundex Code (SOUNDEX_CDE) column in the Soundex Table (SOUNDEX_TABLE).

Since this process can take a long time to complete, the recommendation is that you run the process overnight or during the weekend.

1. Open the Update Soundex Table window.

2. To start the update process, click the Start button.

3. A status bar allows you to see the progress of the update process.

4. To stop processing, click the Stop button. The message "Process interrupted" displays. If you click the Stop button and then click the Start button, the process re-starts at the beginning. It does not re-start where the process was stopped.
