Analyze and Correct 1098-T Data

Before finalizing and sending your 1098-T forms, make sure all your data is accurate and up to date. Use the audit reports and the 1098-T.pbl from MyJenzabar.net to analyze and correct your data.

Analyzing 1098-T Data

The Included Transactions and Excluded Transactions reports audit the 1098-T data and can be used to determine whether transactions appear in the wrong section or are not being selected. The following table can help determine the accuracy of your data.

Jenzabar recommends using the audit reports in conjunction with the forms available in the 1098t.pbl file downloadable from MyJenzabar.net to evaluate and correct transaction history data:

Correcting 1098-T Errors

The audit reports can be generated as frequently as necessary.  Once you have one or more of these reports, use one of the forms (depending on the source code associated with the transaction) from the 1098-T.pbl to modify the transaction history data.

Steps for Correcting 1098-T Errors

Re-Generate 1098-Ts

After the errors have been corrected, repeat the steps to generate your 1098-Ts until no errors are produced.  If additional warnings exist, a Post Process Warning Report appears. This is another step to verify the accuracy of your data. Resolve these warnings and then generate your final 1098-Ts.
