When you provide reports to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), you should not include information on students who for any reason are not eligible for Federal student loans, which includes most foreign students. However, if a foreign student has a valid Social Security Number (SSN), they should be included in the reports.
Some organizations assign "dummy" Social Security Numbers to foreign students. These students' records should not be reported to the NSC; therefore, on the NSC Edit Student Data Records window, the Foreign Student checkbox should be selected for these students.
· To exclude a foreign student's record from NSC reports, you must manually select the Foreign Student checkbox.
· To include a foreign student's record in NSC reports, you must manually clear the Foreign Student checkbox.
