TEACH Grant Eligibility Update Window

This window allows you to identify TEACH Grant-eligible students for the selected year and term and to collect the qualifying data for each student for exporting to PowerFAIDS and for historical tracking.

The process run from this window updates the PF_TEACH_GRANT_HIST table, which will be used to review TEACH Grant-eligible students and update PowerFAIDS from the TEACH Grant Details window. Before running the process, you must ensure that test score percentile and grades have been entered and that Recalculate Academic Record has been run in the Registration module for all students being processed for the selected year and term.

Processing the Update

If you want to process the update for all TEACH Grant-eligible candidates and students:

1.    Select a Year and Term in the Select Year/Term group box.

The Year and Term is defaulted based on the RE module year and term mapping in the PF_POE_XREF table for the POE ID set as the default in Financial Aid Configuration.

2.    Select the appropriate Query in the Select Students group box. There is one default query: d_teach_grant_select. It has been designed to find all admissions candidates entering in the selected year and term and all current students whose most recent enrollment year matches the selected year who meet the required TEACH Eligibility criteria.

If necessary, click the Customize button to modify the query in InfoMaker. The query has been designed to find all admissions candidates entering in the selected year and term and all current students whose most recent enrollment year matches the selected year who meet the required TEACH Eligibility criteria.

 

Any custom query must be written to find ALL eligible candidates and students and not be written to identify subsets. This is important to properly setting the TEACH Eligible checkbox.

3.    Click the Process button.

It launches the query and collects pertinent data used to fulfill the eligibility criteria and either creates or updates a data row in the PF_TEACH_GRANT_HIST table. These data records can be viewed and updated from the TEACH Grant Details window either at the end of the Update process or later by navigating to the window.

4.    When the process is complete, the following message is displayed: "The TEACH Grant Eligibility Update completed. Click OK to see the TEACH Grant Details window for details.

If you click OK, the TEACH Grant Details window displays the data

if you click Cancel, the TEACH Grant Eligibility Update window closes.
