You may want to use certain letters and numbers as "building blocks" when setting up these codes, such as the following:

D	=	Department Type Projects
B	=	Building and Grounds Type Projects
G	=	General Fund
S	=	Scholarship
A001	=	Alpha & Numeric Sequence

The above building blocks can be used to set up the following codes:

      D0002	Overhead Projector
      D0003	VGA Viewer
      B0001	Landscaping
      B0002	Art Work - Hanging
      B0003	Art Work - Free Standing
      B0004	Weight Equipment
      B0005	Lounge Area
      G0001	General Fund
      SA001	Jane Moore Planned Gifts
      SA002	John M. Kite Planned Gifts
      SA003	K. L. Morrison Planned Gifts
      SA004	Tom T. Hall Planned Gifts
      SA005	O. N. John's Planned Gifts
      SA006	Ford Raymond Planned Gifts

1.    Open the Gift Categories window.

2.         Choose Define Category Component 2 from the right-click or Options menu.

3.         The Category Component 2 window opens.

4.         Enter the Category Component 1 code and description.

5.         Save.
