Ethnic/Race Report Definition Window

Ethnic/race report definitions can also be managed in J1 Web on the Ethnic/Race Definitions page. Updates made in the Desktop will be reflected in J1 Web and vice versa. For more information about defining ethnic/race definitions in J1 Web, see the Ethnic Race Definitions help topic.

This window displays the ethnic race reporting categories J1 Desktop uses to meet the Federal Government data collection requirements. In addition, it allows you to define subcategories for any of the ethnic and race reporting categories. Because J1 Desktop uses the main ethnic and race reporting categories, this default data (level one ethnic and race categories on which J1 Desktop depends) are defined with negative numbers and cannot be deleted.

Ethnic Tab

Data displayed and/or entered on the Ethnic tab are saved to the ETHNIC_REPORT_DEF table.

The left pane is a two-level tree, and the right pane displays details for the selected row in the tree.

Columns

Tree Levels:
	Level One (Category) Jenzabar delivers Level One values as default data. J1 Desktop uses these default values to meet the Department of Education (DOE) ethnic and race data collection requirements.
	Level Two (Subcategory) Your school can create Level Two subcategories for each of the Level One default values. J1 Desktop does not use any of the Level Two values in calculating the DOE ethnic and race reporting values. The subcategories that you create can be used for internal data collection and reporting.

Race Tab

Tree Levels:
	New Subcategory This button is available if you have selected a Level One category in the Tree View. When you click this button, a blank record is displayed in the details pane for a Level One category in the Tree View.
	Level Two (Subcategory) Your school can create Level Two subcategories for each of the Level One default values. J1 Desktop does not use any of the Level Two values in calculating the DOE ethnic and race reporting values. The subcategories that you create can be used for internal data collection and reporting.
