This column indicates the date you received this particular source document or the date the candidate made contact with your organization. The source date for new sources is automatically populated with the current date.
Five source code and source date columns are provided on the Candidate tab of the Maintain Candidacy window and the Candidate tab of the Individual Submission Detail window. Sources 1 and Dates 1 columns are used for the initial contact. Sources 2-5 and Dates 2-5 columns can be used for additional contacts by the candidate.

The initial contact (Source 1) by John Q. Candidate was a phone call on July 10 (Source Date 1). On September 5 (Source Date 2), he attended an open house (Source 2) on campus. On October 13 (Source Date 3), he talked to an admissions counselor (Source 3) who was visiting his school. |
Sources 6-10 and their corresponding date columns can be added to the Candidate tab of the Maintain Candidacy window via ELITE PAINT.
When a source is populated in the Candidate tab of the Individual Submission Detail window with the default source for an application, the date in the column reflects the date the inquiry/application was submitted rather than the current date.
