When the Duplicate Name Search window initially opens, the Results tab displays the results of a Duplicate Name Search done with the default search criteria in the Possible Matches grid. The tab will also show results of any subsequent manual searches.
Once matches are found . . .
. . . You can scroll through the list.
. . . You can view details by selecting a row and clicking the More Detail, Show Addresses, Address History, or Name History buttons.
. . . You can generate a new ID Number.
. . . You can select an existing ID Number as a match. The data is brought back into the window from where the Duplicate Name Search was initiated.
. . . You can print the Results list.
. . . You can choose to do nothing and return to the initiating window.
The Possible Matches grid displays the following values (if available) for each returned row.

**If the BIOGRAPH_MASTER table has an ID Number
in the SPOUSE_ID column or if a configurable relationship code exists
in the RELATION_TABLE, the wedding ring ( ) icon is
displayed. You can click the wedding ring icon to view spouse information
on the Spouse Information window.

If the name displayed in the Name column of the result set does not match the name of the person for whom you are searching, it is possibly due to the name being found in the NAME_HISTORY table rather than the NAME_MASTER table. If this is the case, the first column of the search results grid should have a 'H' displayed to indicate that the row is included in the search due to a match having been made in NAME_HISTORY. Other cases where the name might not match could be caused by the search criteria.
